CONSUMERS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Meeting the Needs of Spanish Speaking or Hearing Impaired Consumers: It is the goal of Child Care Connections to meet the needs of all consumers. The Child Care Connections staff may access any Family of Woodstock, Inc. bilingual staff as translators.
When an individual is at any Family office or calls any Family office; is either hearing impaired or speaks a language other than English, staff will make arrangements using the Language Interpretation Line or the hearing-impaired line to serve that consumer if staff are not able to translate. Staff will welcome the consumer; bring them to a private space, then call the appropriate line for assistance.
Staff will do all that they can to assist any consumer. They must work to remove any barriers of communication by using the resources available.
Translators from Family of Woodstock staff may be used while on site; if staff are not available then the office staff can hire a consultant to translate.
Ulster County Staff will meet with any consumer on the first floor if the stairs are a barrier to accessibility.
Hudson office is ground level for accessibility.
