Responsibilities and Duties
The Business Specialist goal is to assist all child care modalities to remain a viable business while offering quality child care programming. The Family Child Care Support Coach is to build a growing caseload of no more than 25 programs while focusing on the programs using Child Care Management System to gather and analysis data. As well as providing networking and training opportunities for child care programs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Family Child Care Support Coach (≈25 FDC/GFDC caseload)
- • Support providers in implementing automated invoicing and tuition collection within Child Care Management System, including subsidy billing and reconciliation processes.
• Develop individualized coaching plans for each provider’s operational challenges/needs.
• Guide providers in establishing strong financial systems (reporting on revenue, expenses, tuition collection, subsidy reconciliation, payroll management and budgeting).
• Schedule, plan, and facilitate monthly ESFCCC networking meetings.
• Visit ESFCCC providers at least once a month.
• Assist ESFCCC providers with business functions requested or in need.
• Offer one-on-one coaching, small group workshops, and peer groups for providers to understand and apply business automation tools, financial management strategies, and compliance requirements and benefit from ESFCCC health and mental health well-being offerings.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Business Specialist (All modalities of child care)
- Provide technical assistance to child care providers related to OCFS- funded grant deliverables, if applicable.
- Develop business management technical assistance/coaching practices tailored to the needs of the provider community served.
- Hold Information Sessions-How to start a child care program at least quarterly.
- Encourage child care providers participation in provider professional associations.
- Compile data about supply and demand and assist with annual community needs assessments.
- Market CCR&R services to businesses, other agencies, and families, through social media platforms, meetings, parenting groups, and community events.
- Offer a business training at least quarterly.
- Provide intensive technical assistance from program requests or regulator recommended.
- Attend relevant train the trainer sessions, webinars, trainings, and meetings offered.
Preferred Qualifications
- • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a Family/Group Family child care program or child care center
• Strong working knowledge of Child Care Management Software-Bright Wheel/Playground.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred
• Organizational skills
• Computer skills
• Able to lift 50lbs
• Must have a reliable vehicle for transportation.
• Valid Driver’s License and insured vehicle.
• Must clear full background check.

Hours and Pay Rate
This is a full-time, 40-hours per week position based at Family of Woodstock main office at 31 Albany Ave. in Kingston.
The rate of pay for this position is $18.95. The compensation package also includes agency-funded health, dental and vision insurance, paid vacation/holiday time, a retirement plan with matching option, and other benefits.
