Responsibilities and Duties
The Residential Coordinator provides on-site support to clients being placed at Washington Inn for emergency housing. This position assists residents with maintaining program rules, promotes community engagement, and ensures a safe, respectful, and supportive living environment along with light housekeeping. The Coordinator works collaboratively with case management staff and property management to promote wellness, independence, and safe housing.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor common areas to ensure a safe, welcoming environment.
- Respond to minor resident concerns and emergencies per agency protocols.
- Communicate promptly with maintenance or management regarding safety or facility issues.
- Assist with move-ins, move-outs, and orientation of new residents.
- Clean rooms when vacated and common areas on a regular basis.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in a mental health or human services related field.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of substance use disorder, prevention, and risk factors
- Basic understanding of mental illnesses
- Basic understanding of chronic illnesses
- General knowledge of Ulster County’s human services agencies.
- Knowledge and sensitivity to vulnerable populations.
- Knowledge of Human Development over the Life Span
- Knowledge of Person-Centered Care
Preferred
- Computer program-specific skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Physical abilities (e.g. Lifting 50 pounds)
Hours and Pay Rate
This is a 30-hours per week overnight position based in Kingston, NY. The pay rate is $19.23 for overnight hours, $17.23 for non-overnight hours.
