For youth in foster care or dealing with mental health and substance abuse problems, a Case Manager can be the essential support person who helps juggle the details of survival, treatment, school, appointments, and planning for the future. A Case Manager links all of the disparate services a troubled young person needs to become a successful adult.
Case Managers meet with young people at FAMILY offices around the county and at sister agencies as well. Family’s services include:
FAMILY’s Youth Diversion Program works with the legal system to help first-time and non-violent offenders find appropriate alternatives to jail.
FAMILY’s Independent Living Program helps youth in foster care make decisions about their independence at age 18.
A variety of case management options assist youth who have mental health, substance abuse, legal or health issues, and those who have survived trauma. Youth are engaged in skill-building experiential workshops, empowering retreats, employment readiness activities, and art therapy programs in addition to traditional counseling and goal setting.
