One Billion Rising Hudson Valley
The Time to Rise is NOW!

when: Wednesday February 14th, 2018, 6-8pm
where: Outdated Cafe, 314 Wall St, Kingston

The time has come again to rise and stand up against violence against women. No longer are women remaining silent about the violence and exploitation they’ve experienced. No longer are men able to hide behind the silence. The time is NOW to engage and activate the men in our families, social circles and community. For so long, this has been viewed as a woman’s issue. The narrative is finally being changed making violence a man’s issue. Let’s work together to help the men in our lives play an active role in becoming a part of the solution. Come with questions, concerns, answers or just your curiosity. We have the power to affect our own community creating waves of change across the globe!

Joining in this conversation will be Karen Haines Storch, Program Director of the Washbourne House and Emily Trotter-Bodie, Program Director of their Non-Resident program. They will also discuss the resources that are available to those in need as well as ways the community can better support them in all they do to help survivors of domestic violence.

Donations of cash and goods to benefit the Washbourne House will also be collected at the event. If you’re unable to attend but would like to make a donation to support their work, please contact 845-338-2370 or fdvs@familyofwoodstockinc.org.
