12th Annual Family of New Paltz Turkey Trot

Fun runners and serious runners can now register for this year’s Turkey Trot, the Thanksgiving fundraiser for Family of New Paltz. The 5K race and Mashed Potato Fun Run will feature a number of enhancements designed to add to the enjoyment for the whole family. This year, the 5K course has been certified by USATF.
The Turkey Trot’s new website allows runners to sign up online at www.newpaltzturkeytrot.com. Registration is available now, and this year, runners can opt for chip timing, which will include free photos at the finish and instantaneous electronic results.
In addition, chip-timed runners will be eligible for first, second and third place awards in their age group, designated in five-year increments, with separate awards for males and females. The awards ceremony will be conducted by Garvan McCloskey, who ran the 2014 Boston Marathon and raised over $10,000 for Family of New Paltz.
This year’s event will also include prizes for best costumes, tee shirts for adults and children, who sign up by October 31st, and the popular Mashed Potato Fun Run, which is free for kids 8 and under.
