Residential Parenting Program

The primary goal of the Residential Parenting Program is to build skills of the parents that improve their connection to, knowledge of, and communication with their children. The mothers at the shelter are given individual and group parenting instruction, including information on age-appropriate expectations, non-violent discipline, and communication skills. Specific concerns of each parent about their children are covered in individual sessions. In addition, the staff demonstrate appropriate role modeling skills for the parents during each session.
