Living with HIV/AIDS is a complex experience. Emotional and physical ups and downs, decisions about ever changing medical treatments, and the challenges of managing insurance and entitlements complicate the lives of people with HIV/AIDS and their caregivers.

Since 1989, FAMILY'S support groups and individual counseling have provided people with a place to talk, to hear current treatment experiences, to help make good decisions. For those with HIV/AIDS, groups help take away the isolation and fear they often feel. For caregivers, a group is a place to share frustrations and emotions they may be ashamed to acknowledge. When a loved one has died, bereavement counseling can help survivors deal with the loss.

FAMILY'S groups combine traditional discussion with art activities, meditation, and other relaxation methods. We recognize that it isn’t easy for everyone to talk about their feelings and experiences. Other modalities allow people to find strengths and supports they can take with them in their daily lives.

If you or someone you know is interested in finding support and information to help deal with the complex cycle of living with HIV/AIDS, call FAMILY'S AIDS Support Services.
